I’m in the process of decorating our new home in coastal decor. Join me!
It was completed in December 2017, and we moved in that same month.
It has white walls, white tile, and and white carpet. Some might think that’s boring (and you’d be right), but I also view it as Tabula Rasa!
My goal is to give a beach touch and coastal tone to each room/area and the porch. I’m going for chic coastal with tropical undertones.
What I’ve done so far…
Original Living Room:
Coastal Decor: Phase 1
Before we moved in, the carpet was replaced with tile to flow from the kitchen and because of one word–toddlers. I painted the wall facing the lake light blue and left the inserts white for dimension. I put a green OCTOPUS next to the door, and then a blue SEA HORSE on the outside of master bedroom to showcase the depth of the wall design. I’m still not sure about what to do with the area that’s indented towards the dining room. That will be tackled later.
Guest Bedroom Bed Revamp:
It started with a black Ikea bed and matching side tables. I painted them liquid blue (blue with green tinges but not outright turquoise). I then wiped the bed down with a stiff brush to give it that vintage vibe.
The tables I put in the laundry room as a temporary diaper changer because it’s a center zone in the house.
Here’s a list of what I have to do:
Dining Room–Choose a table, Decorate
Front Foyer/ Hallway–Decorate, Ceiling Beams
Front Coat Foyer–Decorate, Paint
Living Room–Decorate Nautical Theme Fireplace
Guest Bedroom–Decorate Nautical Theme
Kati’s Bedroom–Nautical Theme Decorate
Luke’s Bedroom–Mermaid Theme Decorate
Jack n Jill Bathroom–Mermaid Theme Decorate
